Services Trademarks

By means of a single registration it is possible to obtain protection for all countries within the European Union. The EU trademark laws have been harmonized and the requirements for filing an EU trademark do not differ much from those in the Benelux. Multiple class applications in all 45 Nice classes are possible.

An application will not be refused ex-officio because of older conflicting rights and it is possible to oppose an application within three months after publication. Trademarks that lack distinctive character or are misleading will be refused. To uphold Trademark rights, it is sufficient to genuinely use the Trademark in one country of the European Union (within 5 years after applying).

For other European countries not party to the European Union, we will be happy to offer assistance in the arrangement of Trademark protection. For more information and informal advice please contact us. Also see our downloads for filing requirements and schedule of fees.
